Reds Drop Nationals, 4-3
|
The Cincinnati Reds topped the Washington Nationals by a score of 4-3. Leading the way was shortstop Dan Reichardt. Reichardt went 2 for 2 with a home run, a triple, and a walk. He scored 2 runs for the Reds. Zach Maxwell finished to wrap up his 3rd save. The loss drops the Nationals to 3-6.
Gavin Guidry, who finished 3rd in the NL in stolen bases with 43 last year, contributed to the Cincinnati win with a 2-run home run in the bottom of the third. For the game, the shortstop had 3 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 2 singles, 1 run scored, and 2 runs batted in.
"I was a little disappointed," said Washington manager Matt Patton. "We could've and should've scored more runs."
