Barteaux Goes 5-for-8 Against Fort Myers
|
Some moments become linked with a particular player's career forever. Berry Barteaux of the Bradenton Marauders had one of those moments when he went 5-for-8 at the plate in his team's 6-2 win over the Fort Myers Mighty Mussels at LECOM Park.
"I won't forget this anytime soon, and I don't expect it to happen too often," the 23-year-old third baseman told reporters in the postgame interview. "I'll be happy to just get a hit or two every day. Enough to hang around the league a while longer. Like 10, maybe 15 more years."
Berry Barteaux flied out in the 2nd, struck out in the 3rd, singled in the 6th, singled in the 8th, singled in the 10th, singled in the 12th, grounded out in the 14th and singled in the 17th.
Barteaux is currently batting .269 with 1 home run and 8 RBIs.
