Rockies Win, 6-3, at Houston
|
The Colorado Rockies picked up a win at Minute Maid Park, knocking off the Houston Astros, 6-3. Starting pitcher Mike Lingar played a key role in the triumph. Juan Mejia earned the save for Colorado, his 4th. The defeat makes Houston 2-4.
In the top of the third, Colorado second baseman Roc Riggio had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and one out, Riggio stroked a run-scoring single to left. It made the score 2-1, Colorado. For the game, he went 1-4.
"It's not by accident that Mike finds ways to get outs," said Colorado skipper Justin Buzzotta.
