The Minnesota Twins had to overcome a big game from Cleveland third baseman Tai Peete to leave Target Field with a victory. And they did, winning, 8-6. Peete was 2-4 with 2 home runs. Luis Navarro earned the save, his 1st, for the Twins. The loss puts Cleveland at 0-2.

Had Karson Bowen not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 3rd, Bowen hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 7-6, in favor of the Twins.

"Winning the game is always the first objective," Bowen said.
