After a 5-hit effort to lead Tulsa's 12-4 victory over the Springfield Cardinals, center fielder Pete Wright told BNN beat writers it had been "a special day."

"It really doesn't matter whether it's sandlot ball, high school or college, two hits in a game is nice," he said. "Three or four is better, but five or more is out of sight. And to do that at the Texas League-level is really something special."

The 24-year-old player earned his accolades at Hammons Field with a spectacular 5-for-6 game against the Cardinals.

"His swing is getting there," said Drillers skipper Steve Mintz, who spoke glowingly of Wright after the game. "We want him to be quick with his swing, short and compact. We want him to be patient and go the other way when he can. Pete did that to perfection."

Pete Wright singled in the 1st, struck out in the 3rd, doubled in the 5th, singled in the 6th, hit a two-run double in the 7th and singled in the 8th.

In his 2030 season totals, Wright has no home runs, .324 BA, .350 OBP, 4 RBIs and 9 runs scored.
