Great Day for Benintendi -- 5 Hits
The St. Paul Saints downed the Toledo Mud Hens, 10-8, at Fifth Third Ballpark, in spite of the best efforts of Toledo left fielder Andrew Benintendi. Benintendi lashed the ball all over the park in a 5-hit explosion, finishing with a 5-for-11 line -- and a loss.

"I don't remember a better day batting, but it sure is disappointing to lose the game," he said to BNN reporters in the postgame interview. "A win would have made the day much sweeter."

Asked if he would adjust his strategy next time the Saints face Benintendi, St. Paul manager Matt Young said "absolutely not."

"Our strategy was to not give him good pitches to hit," he said. "We didn't do that, and he worked us over. Thankfully, we won anyway, and next time we'll pitch to him better."

Andrew Benintendi grounded out in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, struck out in the 5th, flied out in the 7th, singled in the 9th, singled in the 11th, singled in the 13th, grounded out in the 15th, flied out in the 17th, flied out in the 19th and doubled in the 21st.

This season, Benintendi is swinging the bat at a .274 rate with 37 hits in 135 at-bats. To date he has hit 1 home run, scored 15 runs and driven in 9.
