5-4 Win Takes Astros to 85-70
|
Led by Roman Martin, the Houston Astros defeated the San Francisco Giants, 5-4. Martin was 2-4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Astros. Daniel Salazar picked up the win, lifting his record to 11-11 on the season. He struck out 7 and walked 2 in 6 innings, while yielding 3 runs. Joe Jimenez closed the game out for Houston, earning his 37th save.
With Houston leading 2-0 in the top of the fourth, Martin hit a fastball from Drew Dowd for a 3-run home run. It was his 5th home run of the season and put the Astros ahead, 5-0.
Martin told a Houston Today reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
