Astros Win at Home, 5-4
|
The Arizona Diamondbacks got a sterling performance from pitcher Daniel Sandino, but the Houston Astros still prevailed, 5-4. Sandino threw 5.1 innings of 4-hit ball. The win belonged to Skylar Arias in relief. His record improves to 3-3. Caden Dana took the loss for Arizona. Joe Jimenez converted his 38th save in 43 tries.
Houston took a 5-4 lead on Jaison Chourio's 2nd double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Chourio hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Arizona pitcher Jason Adam visibly frustrated.
"It's nice to deliver when your team's counting on you," said Chourio.
With the win, Houston upped its record to 83-70.
