White Sox Win at New York, 7-3
|
The Chicago White Sox knocked off the New York Mets, 7-3, in American League action at Citi Field. Chicago pitcher and Calgary, Canada, native Mike Soroka had an outstanding performance. Joe Clark got the save, the 2nd for him this season. The White Sox lead the American League Central Division by 18 games.
Chicago used a clutch at-bat from Wes Kath to capture the win. The third baseman hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the White Sox ahead, 4-2. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"We came in and did what we needed to do," said Chicago manager Joey Cora.
