Cubs Capture 8-3 Win at Rogers Centre
|
The inspired effort of Toronto catcher Chris Anders was not enough to prevent a loss, 8-3, to the Chicago Cubs. Anders went 3 for 3 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. With the win, Chicago upped its record to 82-68.
Charlie Drew had a key at-bat with two out in the top of the fourth for Chicago. With the bases loaded and the Cubs leading 2-0, he got hit by a pitch, driving in 1 run.
Drew called the win "a team effort."
