Nationals Shut Out Marlins, 7-0
|
Riding the 3-hit performance of the 2024 Most Valuable Player Award winner Juan Soto, the Washington Nationals defeated the Miami Marlins, 7-0. Washington leads the National League East Division by 2 games.
Washington shortstop Cade Kurland contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the sixth. With two down, he hit a fastball to right field for a 2-run single. It was his 125th hit of the season and put the Nationals ahead, 3-0.
"We just try to have good at-bats, whether we're winning, losing, or tied," said Kurland.
