The Houston Astros withstood a fine game by Texas left fielder Oscar Colas at Minute Maid Park, to upend the Rangers, 9-5. Colas went 3-4 with 2 home runs. He scored 3 runs and drove in 3. Luis Vega earned the win to go to 9-6. He allowed 5 runs on 8 hits, with 4 walks and 4 strikeouts in 7.1 innings of work. The 4th-place Astros now sit at 63-85.
In the bottom of the fourth inning of a 4-4 tie, Houston third baseman Alex Bregman reached on an error by the SS, driving in 1 run. It broke the deadlock and put Houston on top, 5-4.
