Twins Score 8-4 Win Against Toronto
|
Minnesota first baseman Max Wagner helped his team beat the Toronto Blue Jays, 8-4. Wagner, who finished 5th in the AL in runs with 100 in 2026, went 2 for 4 for the Twins. Minnesota starter Josh Wilson was credited with the win after throwing 82 pitches over 5.1 innings. His record now stands at 9-9. Minnesota's record now stands at 62-80, placing them last in the American League Central Division.
Wagner contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Minnesota in the bottom of the fifth. With his team trailing 4-3, Wagner took a slider from Huascar Ynoa and stroked the home run to left-center. His 14th home run of the season allowed the Twins to leap in front, 6-4.
"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Wagner told a Minnesota Daily News reporter. "Sometimes we just need to relax."
