Red Sox Stumble, Lose to Royals
The Kansas City Royals beat the Boston Red Sox, 10-3, at Kauffman Stadium. Bobby Witt Jr., who won the Most Valuable Player Award in 2024, starred for Kansas City. He went 2 for 5 with a home run, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. Kansas City reliever Juan Barajas picked up the win to move to 7-7. Sang-mok Kim suffered the loss. Kansas City, at 71-68, sits in third place in the American League Central Division.

Had Witt Jr. not come through in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have changed. Instead, with two down, Witt Jr. hit a 2-run single. The Royals never looked back after taking the 4-2 lead.

"Nice win for us," said Witt Jr.. "Now we'll go after the next one."
