Orioles Absorb 7-6 Home Loss
|
The Cleveland Guardians picked up a win at Oriole Park at Camden Yards, knocking off the Baltimore Orioles, 7-6. Starting pitcher Tim Trafton played a key role in the triumph. The winning pitcher was Trafton, now 4-5. He tossed 6.1 innings of 1-hit ball, while walking 4 and fanning 4. Trevor Brigden recorded the save, making him 16 for 21.
Cal Miller had a big 2-run home run for the Guardians in the top of the second inning. With Cleveland leading 1-0 and a runner on 2nd, he sized up a slider from Trey Yesavage, who is tied for 3rd in the AL in complete games with 1, and punished it. The result was his 8th home run of the season, which put the Guardians on top, 3-0.
"Getting ahead of the hitters was the key," said Trafton.
With this game in the books, Cleveland is 63-74, Baltimore 77-60.
