The Baltimore Orioles topped the Seattle Mariners, 4-3, in American League action at Oriole Park at Camden Yards. The standout performance belonged to Baltimore pitcher and Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic, native Alvaro Oceguera. Sam Hammonds earned his 35th save in 42 chances. This loss makes it 7 in a row for Seattle.
TayShaun Walton had a big solo home run for the Orioles in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Baltimore leading 3-1 and the bases empty, he sized up a changeup from Lino Vason, who is tied for 5th in the AL in complete games with 1, and punished it. The result was his 28th home run of the season, which put the Orioles on top, 4-1.
Baltimore manager James Resume said his team played a "no nonsense" game.
