Griffin Shines in 5-2 St. Louis Win

St. Louis and New York duked it out and the Cardinals came out victorious.
The St. Louis Cardinals beat the New York Mets, 5-2, at Citi Field. St. Louis center fielder Konnor Griffin led the way. He went 3-3 with a home run, 2 singles, and 2 walks, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. St. Louis improves to 88-41 with the win. They lead their division by 20 games.
Griffin had a game-changing home run in the top of the sixth. On a 1-2 curveball from Bradley Loftin, he banged a 2-run home run to right, giving the Cardinals a 3-1 lead. It was the 26th home run of the year for Griffin.
St. Louis manager Brandon Buchanan praised his team's "energy."
