Davis Stars for Cubs in 7-3 Win
The Chicago Cubs topped the Arizona Diamondbacks, 7-3, at Wrigley Field. Chicago designated hitter Brennen Davis was a spark plug for the offense. He was 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 and driving in 3. Chicago reliever Jaime Melendez picked up the win, upping his record to 3-0. Tyler Prystajko was saddled with the loss. With the victory, the Cubs upped their record to 67-60.

Davis had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the sixth. On a first pitch changeup from Tyler Prystajko, he banged a solo home run to left, giving the Cubs a 4-3 lead. It was the 30th home run of the year for Davis.

"Winning the game is always the first objective," Davis said.
