Lewis Lifts Twins to 6-5 Triumph
|
Baseball fans saw a good contest between the Minnesota Twins and Philadelphia Phillies.
The Minnesota Twins used the hitting of shortstop Royce Lewis to subdue the Philadelphia Phillies, 6-5. For the game, Lewis was 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 and driving in 3. Barrett Kent, the winning pitcher, is now 3-2. He went 5 innings, allowing 4 runs on 6 hits, while fanning 9 and walking 2.
Minnesota used a clutch at-bat from Cody Schrier to capture the win. The second baseman hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the second inning to put the Twins ahead, 4-1. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"We were able to get some things going offensively," said Schrier.
Minnesota has now won 3 straight, while the Phillies have lost 3 in a row.
