Royals Suffer One-Run Loss at Texas
|
Starting pitcher Dylan Lonergan was a major factor in the 3-2 Texas Rangers triumph over the Kansas City Royals. Lonergan yielded 1 run over 6 innings to notch the win. He scattered 3 hits, walked 2, and struck out 5. His record improves to 14-4. Picking up the save was David Bednar. He's now 24 for 26 in save chances.
Vladimir Guerrero Jr., who is tied for 3rd in the AL in home runs with 36, helped out the Texas cause in the bottom of the seventh inning with a run-scoring hit-by-pitch. For the game, the first baseman drove in one run.
"If I go out there and help the team win, that's all you can do," said Lonergan.
The first-place Rangers have a one-game lead in their division.
