The Minnesota Twins took Philadelphia pitcher Tarik Skubal's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Citizens Bank Park. The final score had Minnesota getting past the Phillies, 4-2. Skubal went 6 innings and allowed 3 runs, striking out 5. Pablo Falconett picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 9-5. Tarik Skubal, who finished 4th in the AL in ERA with 3.32 in 2023, was tagged with the loss. The save went to Shawn Guilliams, number 39 for him.

Minnesota used a clutch at-bat from Landon Schaefer to capture the win. The third baseman hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Twins ahead, 3-2. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.

Minnesota manager Jake Fegan said his team played a "no nonsense" game.

Minnesota, now 72-53, holds down second place in the American League Central Division.
