The New York Mets racked up a win at Citi Field, bumping off the Chicago Cubs, 1-0, in 10 innings. Bradley Loftin, who started for New York, pitched effectively for his team. Edwin Díaz picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 6-2. Ben Leeper was tagged with the loss. The 4th-place Mets bumped their record to 56-64.

The Mets got a clutch hit from shortstop Francisco Lindor. In the bottom of the tenth, he hit a run-scoring single to center, to win the game for the Mets.

"Makes our job easier," said Lindor, "when our pitchers shut the opposition down."
