Texas 81-39 After 7-6 Win Over Seattle
The Seattle Mariners could not turn a fine performance from pitcher AJ Izzi into a win. Instead, the Texas Rangers prevailed, 7-6. Izzi came in in relief and pitched to 19 batters. Jake Marshall was called on to finish, recording his 1st save. The American League West Division-leading Rangers have a record of 81-39.

Ronald Hernandez had a big 3-run home run for the Rangers in the bottom of the second inning. With Texas trailing 4-2 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he sized up a fastball from 26-year old right-handed pitcher Landon Victorian and punished it. The result was his 7th home run of the season, which put the Rangers on top, 5-4.

"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Hernandez.
