White Sox Squelch Royals Offense in Shutout Win
|
The umbrellas came out during the Chicago-Kansas City contest at Guaranteed Rate Field.
Chicago used a superb performance from starting pitcher Joel Dickey to down the Kansas City Royals, 5-0. Chicago reliever Joel Dickey got the win, raising his record to 2-1. Austin Charles was tagged with the loss.
Making an impact for the home team was Wes Kath. In the bottom of the sixth, the 30-year old third baseman had a run-scoring walk. That made the score 2-0, White Sox.
Chicago manager Joey Cora called it "a darn good win."
The Royals, now 53-68, have lost 5 straight.
