Los Angeles Angels starter Juan Carela pitched a strong game against the Chicago White Sox at Angel Stadium of Anaheim, leading the Angels to victory, 5-1. Los Angeles is now 50-68, Chicago 56-62.
The Angels got a big at-bat from third baseman Arfeni Batista. For the game, Batista went 1-3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. In the bottom of the first, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 30th home run of the season gave Los Angeles a 2-0 lead.
