Rangers Win, 6-2, at New York
|
The umbrellas came out during the Texas-New York contest at Yankee Stadium.
Texas turned a good effort from starter David Davila into a win over the New York Yankees at Yankee Stadium. The Rangers won the game, 6-2. The winner was Davila. He threw 7.0 innings of 5-hit ball. The loser was Michael Burrows.
Sam Hall had a big 2-run home run for the Rangers in the top of the third inning. With Texas leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he got a fastball from 31-year old right-handed pitcher Michael Burrows and swatted a home run to right. It was his 29th home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Rangers ahead, 3-0.
"This is truly a great team to play with," Davila said after the game. "We're like brothers, and when we come together to pull out the win, that just makes it all the better."
The Rangers lead the American League West Division by 5½ games.
