Nationals Victors, 2-1, at Los Angeles
|
Los Angeles wasted an exceptional performance by pitcher Blake Yaag, falling to the Washington Nationals, 2-1. Yaag threw 7.0 innings of 6-hit ball for the losing team. Picking up the save was Dylan Lee. He's now 8 for 9 in save chances. The National League East Division-leading Nationals have a record of 62-51.
The Nationals got a big at-bat from right fielder Josh China. For the game, China was 1 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the top of the first, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 23rd home run of the season gave Washington a 2-0 lead.
"We'll pop the top on a cold beverage and get back to work tomorrow," China said.
