The Texas Rangers trumped the Oakland Athletics, 7-4, at Globe Life Field. Texas second baseman Jacob Gonzalez was terrific. He went 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. Dustin May picked up the win, lifting his record to 12-4 on the season. He struck out 7 and walked 2 in 6.2 innings, while yielding 4 runs. With the win, Texas pushed its record to 63-49.
Vladimir Guerrero Jr. cracked a home run off Thatcher Hurd in the bottom of the first. His 2-run blast put the Rangers on top, 2-0. In all, Guerrero Jr. had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.
"I like our moxie," said Rangers manager Marques Williams.
