New York registered a win at Citi Field by beating the Washington Nationals, 5-1. Pitcher Andrew Dutkanych IV was one reason why the Mets triumphed. The winner was Dutkanych IV. He threw 8.1 innings of 5-hit ball. The loser was Sincere Dinnall. With the win, New York pushed its record to 59-51.

Harry Ford had a big 3-run home run for the Mets in the bottom of the fourth inning. With New York leading 2-1 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he sized up a fastball from Sincere Dinnall, who is tied for 9th in the NL in innings pitched with 139.2, and punished it. The result was his 16th home run of the season, which put the Mets on top, 5-1.

"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Dutkanych IV.
