In a low-scoring contest between the Chicago Cubs and the Miami Marlins, Nick Bitsko was the X factor. The Chicago right-hander spearheaded the 3-2 win. The winner was Chicago reliever Jhosmer Alvarez, now 6-1. The loser was Carlos Belen. The wins continue to add up for Chicago. The latest makes it 7 in a row.

The Cubs got a clutch hit from third baseman Christian Knapczyk. In the bottom of the 13th, he hit a run-scoring single to left, to win the game for the Cubs.

"As well as we've been playing, I think we can play even better," said Chicago manager David Ross.
