The Chicago Cubs dealt the Miami Marlins a 4-2 loss at Wrigley Field. Triston Casas was the star on offense. He went 2-4 with 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. Reliever Frankie Scalzo picked up the win. His record improves to 5-5. Alex Scherff, who finished 5th in the AL in saves with 37 in 2030, took the loss. Orion Kerkering sewed up the save, his 9th.

Casas had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the eighth. On a 1-1 fastball from Alex Scherff, he banged a 2-run home run to left, giving the Cubs a 4-2 lead. It was the 14th home run of the year for Casas.

"It was a solid team effort," said Casas after the game.

The second-place Cubs have won 6 consecutive games.
