Braves Lose at Home, 4-2
|
Truist Park was the site of a competitive game between the Atlanta Braves and Washington Nationals.
The Washington Nationals picked up a win at Truist Park, knocking off the Atlanta Braves, 4-2. Starting pitcher Jacob Shafer played a key role in the triumph. Shafer picked up the win for Washington, going 6.1 innings. He gave up 1 run on 5 hits. He now sports a record of 10-5.
Washington used the hitting of Josh China to pick up the win. The right fielder clubbed a 3-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Nationals on top, 3-0. For the game, China had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"It's always a heck of a lot easier to get to sleep after a win," Shafer told the Washington Citizen. "I know I'll rest easy tonight."
Washington raised its record to 50-48 with the win.
