Nationals Victors, 6-5, at Arizona
|
The Washington Nationals topped the Arizona Diamondbacks, 6-5, in National League action at Chase Field. The game was highlighted by the performance of Washington pitcher Juan Arechaederra. The first-place Nationals, at 59-38, now lead their division by 5 games.
Washington used a clutch at-bat from Josh China to capture the win. The right fielder hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Nationals ahead, 6-3. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"Enjoyed this one," China told the Washington Times. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
