Dodgers Down Twins, 7-3
|
Los Angeles pitcher Vicente Larrosa had a large part in his team beating the Minnesota Twins, 7-3. The left-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. With the win, Los Angeles raised its record to 48-48.
Joe Bowden had a big 2-run double for the Dodgers in the bottom of the third inning. With Los Angeles leading 1-0 and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he got a fastball from Barrett Kent, who is a two-time All-Star, and swatted a double to right-center. It was his 17th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Dodgers ahead, 3-0.
"I'm happy we won," said Larrosa. "That's first and foremost. My goal is for the team to win the day I pitch, however it's done."
