Gorman Stars for Phillies in 12-5 Win
|
The 12-5 Philadelphia win over Miami was due largely to Nolan Gorman. The Phillies third baseman went 2-4 with a home run. He scored 2 runs and drove in 5. With the victory, the Phillies upped their record to 51-41.
With Philadelphia leading 4-2 in the top of the fourth, Gorman hit a fastball from Andrew Hoffmann for a grand slam home run. It was his 23rd home run of the season and put the Phillies ahead, 8-2.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Gorman.
