Nationals Lose to Athletics, 5-4
|
Athletics right fielder Dylan Crews left his mark on his team's 5-4 win over the Washington Nationals. Crews, who is tied for 2nd in the AL with a .402 on-base percentage, went 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 times for Oakland in the contest. Oakland reliever Yehizon Sanchez picked up the win, raising his record to 2-0. Riley Cornelio was tagged with the loss. The victory gives Oakland a record of 52-38.
The result might have been different, had it not been for 29-year old third baseman Gabriel Arias. Arias had a bases-clearing double in the top of the seventh inning to put the Athletics ahead, 5-3. For the game, Arias had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"I just tried to put the barrel on it," said Crews.
