Mariners Come Up Short at Los Angeles, 3-2
|
Seattle got a decent performance from pitcher Jose Gomez, but it wasn't enough to beat the Los Angeles Angels. Los Angeles won the Angel Stadium of Anaheim contest, 3-2. Gomez threw 5.0 innings of 4-hit ball for the losing team. Alan Whiteside closed out the game, earning his 19th save. The Angels sport a record of 35-51.
Shea Langeliers aided the Los Angeles cause with a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the bottom of the first. For the game, the second baseman drove in one run.
"I tell our guys all the time, 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction,'" Los Angeles manager Kyle Dhanani said.
