The Toronto Blue Jays defeated the Boston Red Sox, 5-3, in American League action at Fenway Park. Toronto pitcher Noah Murdock had a standout performance. Murdock yielded 1 run over 5.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 4 hits, walked 5, and struck out 5. His record improves to 6-2. Toronto is now 49-37, 4½ games up in the American League East Division.
Ronny Mauricio helped his team jump on top from the get-go. His first time up in the top of the first, he cranked a 2-run single to give Toronto a 2-0 lead.
"Noah's as tough as he is talented," said Toronto manager Luis Rivera.
