Angels Trip Nationals, 5-4, in Extra Innings
|
Thanks in large part to center fielder Benny Montgomery, the Los Angeles Angels beat the Washington Nationals, 5-4. Montgomery was 3 for 6 with 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. The Angels now have a record of 35-41.
The game was decided with no one out in the bottom of the 13th. With Los Angeles trailing 4-3, Montgomery jumped on a fastball from 36-year old left-handed pitcher Dylan Lee and hit a 2-run home run to left-center. With one swing, the Angels had a walk-off win.
"We found a way to get it done," Montgomery said.
