Athletics Rip Cincinnati, 12-2
|
Alejandro Marillo was a vital contributor to the 12-2 Oakland victory over Cincinnati. The Athletics right fielder was 4 for 5 with a home run and 2 doubles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. With the win, Oakland pushed its record to 42-29.
Daniel Susac had a big 3-run home run for the Athletics in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Oakland leading 2-1 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a sinker from 24-year old right-handed pitcher Ben Bollinger and swatted a home run to left. It was his 4th home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Athletics ahead, 5-1.
"We didn't put up much resistance," said losing manager Ahron Cooney.
