Detroit registered a win at Great American Ball Park by beating the Cincinnati Reds, 10-5. Pitcher Barrett Kent was one reason why the Tigers triumphed. The third-place Tigers have a record of 36-31.

Detroit used a clutch at-bat from Josh Mears to capture the win. The center fielder hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Tigers ahead, 4-0. It was his lone hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.

"I'm just looking to see the ball, hit the ball," said Mears.
