Lake Monsters Dominate, Sweep Round 1
|
After their 3-2 win today at Joseph L. Bruno Stadium over the Tri-City ValleyCats, the Vermont Lake Monsters will advance to the Round 2. Vermont won the series by a 3-0 margin.
Leading the way for the Lake Monsters was left fielder Trey Harris, who had a spectacular series and was named MVP.
"I don't play differently in the regular season or playoffs. I just go out and do my best every game," he said. "It's certainly nice to play in the big game, but you can't let it get to your head and change your focus."
The Vermont Lake Monsters will play against the Aberdeen Ironbirds in the next round. Aberdeen won their series against the Batavia Muckdogs 3 games to 0. The Round 2 schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes.
