Boston Gets 3-0 Win
|
In a low-scoring affair between the Boston Red Sox and the Colorado Rockies, pitcher Tanner Houck was the difference between victory and defeat. The Boston right-hander earned accolades for his stellar performance in the 3-0 Red Sox win. Houck, now 4-2, was the winner. In 6.1 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 7, walking 1, and allowing no runs. Earning his 17th save for Boston was Yosuke Fujiwara.
The Red Sox got a big at-bat from right fielder Oswald Peraza. For the game, Peraza went 1 for 4 with a double. In the top of the second, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 8th double of the season gave Boston a 1-0 lead.
"Tanner is tough when he's hitting his spots," said Boston manager Mike Hanson.
The first-place Red Sox have won 5 in a row.
