Brewers Earn 5-3 Win Against Reds
|
The Milwaukee Brewers beat the Cincinnati Reds, 5-3, at Great American Ball Park. Bryan Lavastida starred for Milwaukee. He hit 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. Milwaukee reliever Luis Tejeda got the win, raising his record to 2-3. Victor Gonzalez was tagged with the loss. Milwaukee, with the win, sits at 20-39.
Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Sal Frelick? The two-time All-Star Frelick stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the 11th inning to put Milwaukee up, 4-3. For the game, he was 3 for 5, including 2 doubles and 1 single.
Said Milwaukee manager Al Hyman: "At the end of the day, these guys have to perform between the lines, and I think they did."
