The New York Mets scored a convincing win at American Family Field, defeating the Milwaukee Brewers, 11-2. One of the hitting stars was Luis Garcia, who is tied for 8th in the NL in doubles with 16, who was 3-4 with 2 home runs and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. New York raised its record to 29-26 with the win.

Early in the game, Garcia had a 2-run home run for New York. It was his 8th home run of the season and put the Mets on top, 2-0.

"We'll need a much better effort, the next time out," said losing manager Al Hyman.
