Minnesota Wins at Home to Take 2-1 Lead in League Championship
The Minnesota Twins got a strong performance from pitcher Matthew Matthijs, who stymied the visiting Chicago White Sox en route to a win, 5-3, in Game 3 of the League Championship Series. The White Sox could never get a bead on the right-handed Matthijs, who threw 7.0 innings of 3-hit ball. The Twins now hold a 2-1 in the best-of-7 series.

Misael Urbina, who finished 2nd in the AL in doubles with 49 in 2027, contributed to the Minnesota win with a 2-run home run in the bottom of the third. For the game, the left fielder had 2 hits in 3 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 3 RBI.

Urbina attributed the win to "everyone pulling their weight."
