Reds Absorb 6-2 Home Loss
|
Pittsburgh beat Cincinnati on the strength of starting pitcher Yonny Chirinos's fine effort. The right-hander led his team to a win, 6-2. Chirinos got the win, improving to 3-7. He gave up 6 hits and walked 2 over 5 innings. He allowed 2 runs. Pittsburgh is now 69-90, while Cincinnati is 78-81.
Pittsburgh used a clutch at-bat from Henry Davis to capture the win. The catcher hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Pirates ahead, 4-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"We'll kick back tonight, then get set for the next one," Davis said.
