The Pittsburgh Pirates could not turn a fine performance from pitcher Joe Cromer into a win. Instead, the Cincinnati Reds prevailed, 4-3. Cromer threw 6.2 innings of 5-hit ball. Kyle Hoskins, who is a five-time All-Star, nailed down the save. The win puts Cincinnati at 92-67 this season.

Jesus Arroyo chipped in a 2-run home run for Cincinnati in the bottom of the seventh. For the game, the center fielder had 2 hits in 3 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 2 runs batted in.

"I still think this team can play even better," Arroyo told the Cincinnati Daily.
