Cardinals Cruise to Round 2 with Sweep
The Springfield Cardinals outclassed the Wichita Wind Surge in all facets of the game throughout the TL Round 1.

The end result was a Springfield series sweep to advance to the Round 2, capped off by a 7-1 win in the final game.

"We're a bit surprised it's over in a sweep, to be honest with you," said first baseman Jaheim Whilby, who hit .455 in the series.

Whilby's standout effort garnered him MVP honors. He also put up a .571 on-base percentage and had 0 home runs, drove in 3 RBI and scored 2 runs.

The Springfield Cardinals don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Amarillo Sod Poodles - Frisco RoughRiders series. Frisco leads the series 2 games to 1. The Round 2 schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes.
