Rodriguez Raps Toledo for 5 Hits
|
It was a high-five day for Christian Rodriguez, at least for a while.
The Gwinnett left fielder got plenty of them from his teammates when he reached the five-hit milestone during today's game against the Toledo Mud Hens, but they were in short supply at the end, as Toledo won the game, 4-1. Rodriguez finished with an impressive 5-for-6 line, but the Stripers couldn't hold off the Mud Hens.
"Christian was hitting everything," said Stripers manager Jay Sullenger. "It's too bad the other guys couldn't rise to the occasion."
Christian Rodriguez singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th, grounded out in the 9th and singled in the 11th.
This season, Rodriguez has banged out 96 hits in 352 at-bats for a .273 average with 6 home runs. He is getting on base at a .356 pace and his totals also include 47 RBIs and 43 runs scored.
